Cache County, UT.      –     At 10:15 a.m. on Thursday, the Cache County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a plane crash approximately 4 -5 miles East of Hardware Ranch in Blacksmith Fork Canyon. The crash was witnessed by a pilot in another plane.

Once notified of the crash, a Life Flight helicopter was dispatched to the scene to check on the condition of the pilot. Sheriff’s deputies and Sheriff’s Search and Rescue responded to the scene as well. Life Flight medics were able to stabilize the pilot and he was flown to a Wasatch Front area hospital.

Sheriff’s Office Investigators were flown to the crash site by the Utah Dept. of Public Safety helicopter to start the investigation.

At this time there is no information as to the cause of the crash.

No information is The pilot’s name has not been released and no information concerning the extent of the pilot’s injuries is available at this time.

The investigation has been turned over to the FAA.
