Rexburg, ID. – On Friday June 1, 2018, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle crash on westbound State Highway 33 near milepost 77, west of Rexburg. Moises Munoz, 71, of Corona, California, was driving westbound on State Highway 33 in a 2018 Penske truck pulling a trailer. Munoz’s trailer fishtailed, went off the roadway, jackknifed and struck a power pole. Munoz was wearing a seatbelt. The road was blocked for approximately two hours.
Idaho Falls, ID. – The state police also investigated a two vehicle crash on Northbound Interstate 15 at milepost 110.5, south of Idaho Falls, at 9:15 p.m. om Friday. Brandon M. Twitchell, 31, of Idaho Falls, was driving northbound on I15 in a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier. Terry K. Anderson, 66, of Idaho Falls was also driving northbound in a 2015 Chrysler 300. Twitchell struck the rear of the Chrysler 300, drove off the left shoulder and rolled into the median. The Chrysler 300 came to a rest on the left shoulder.
Twitchell was taken by ground ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center and was not wearing a seatbelt. Anderson was wearing a seatbelt. This crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
McCammon, ID. – On Sunday, June 3, 2018, at approximately 7:35 a.m. a fatality crash occured on Interstate 15 at milepost 51, four miles north of McCammon. A grey 2010 Toyota Camry driven by Jose Arzola, 75, of Pocatello, was travelling northbound when the vehicle drove off the left shoulder. Arzola overcorrected, driving off the right shoulder. The vehicle rolled and came to rest off the east side of the interstate, on its top. A passenger of the vehicle, Pedro Paniagua, 82, of San Diego CA, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Notification to family has been made.
The driver, and a second passenger, Guadalupe Arzola, 74, of Pocatello, were transported by private vehicle to Portneuf Regional Medical Center in Pocatello. All occupants were wearing seatbelts.
Soda Springs, ID. – On Sunday June 3, 2018, at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Idaho State Police investigated a single vehicle injury crash on SH34 at milepost 69, north of Soda Springs. Cheryl Molzon, 48, of Hurricane, UT, was driving northbound on SH34, on a 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Molzon drove off the left shoulder where the motorcycle came to a rest.
Molzon was transported by ground ambulance to Caribou Memorial Hospital and later taken by air ambulance to Portnuef Medical Center in Pocatello. Molzon was not wearing a helmet. This crash is still under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
