Salt Lake City, UT.   –  Utah has announced it first new state park in 15 years. Echo Reservoir, which is a 1,400 – acre lake operated by the Weber River Water Users Association. The dam that created the lake was built in 1931 and is owned by the Bureau of Reclamation.
According to The Salt Lake Tribune, the Utah Division of State Parks is planning to develop a plan for the future Echo State Park. About 40 miles northeast of Salt Lake City, and two miles north of Coalville.
They are anticipating a $2 million investment to upgrade the marina, boat ramp and other facilities, a figure that will be matched by the Bureau of Reclamation.
The park is expected to open for day use in the spring, but the amenities will not be fully operational.
