Boise, ID. – Folk singer, storyteller, songwriter and native of Idaho, Rosalie Sorrels, has passed away at the age of 83.

Sorrels died on Sunday, June 11th in Reno, Nevada, at the home of her daughter, according to family.

Rosalie (Stringfellow) Sorrels grew up in Boise. Her mother ran The Book Shop. Sorrels later recorded over 20 albums and performed at folk festivals around the country. She received Grammy nominations for two of her albums, My Last Go Round” in 2004 and another for “Strangers In Another Country” in 2008.

Later in life she lived in a cabin near Grimes Creek, northeast of Boise. Several memorial services are being planned.
