Logan, UT.   –   A snowmobiler was rescued following an avalanche in the Franklin Basin area of Logan Canyon in Utah, south of the Idaho border.

The male rider who was buried by the avalanche has not yet been identified, but was lucky to have not received any serious injuries during the ordeal. The man was said to have been rescued by family members who he was riding with.

The man and another snowmoblier were said to have triggered the avalanche, but the other rider was able to clear the path.

Avalanche warnings have been active recently in the mountainous regions of Idaho and Utah, including the Wasatch range, Bear River range and western Uintas. Several avalanches have been triggered already in northern Utah according to the Utah Avalanche Center.
