Converse County, WY. – There were no injuries reported according to officials, when a drilling rig working in Converse County, hit a pocket of natural gas causing a blowout over the weekend.

The Converse County Emergency Management coodinator spoke of the incident stating that safety equipment failed and that a small fire started on a vent stack. Workers did evacuate the drilling rig following the blowout, but the fire was later extinguished.

Crews worked yesterday to shut the oil and gas well that suffered the blowout.
