Riverton, WY.  –  Six cases of gastrointestinal illness and several Salmonella infections were discovered in Fremont County earlier this month. The Wyoming Department of Health now believes that these cases are connected, and that the cases are only affecting attendees of pre-schools and daycare centers.

The exact source of the outbreak has not been identified, but the department doesn’t think the illness is related to school meals.

The Health Department is continuing to conduct interviews and more will likely be known when testing concludes and lab results are finalized.
