Jackson, WY. — Grand Teton National Park rangers are investigating a traffic accident that left four bison dead on October 2nd.

A Casper woman was driving a pickup truck through foggy conditions on U.S. 26/89/191, when she struck a bison on the highway.

The truck rolled, striking and killing 3 additional bison that were standing nearby.

A park spokesman said that while a citation has not yet been issued, one could be, if it’s determined the woman was driving too fast for the weather conditions.

The woman escaped the incident with minor injuries. There were no other passengers in the truck.
