Newcastle Longhorns played a double header round robin hosted by Belle Fourche which included the team from Buffalo. It was a successful outing for the Longhorns winning both games with comfortable score. Newcastle bested the host team Bombers with a final score of 17 to 5 in a game that was close for the first 5 innings. Going into the sixth inning the Longhorns had a 6 to 5 lead and then scored 8 runs in the top of the inning. Newcastle held the Belle Fourche team scoreless for the rest of game then and put up 3 more runs in the top of the final inning to close out the game.

In the second game the Newcastle team was more deliberate keeping Buffalo off the scoreboard while scoring in every inning. Buffalo gathered a single run in the top of the fourth inning but the Longhorns responded with 7 runs in the same inning. With a score of 14 to 1 the Longhorns held the Buffalo team scoreless the top of the fifth to invoke the mercy rule and end the game.

Newcastle plays again on Tuesday with a double header in Belle Fourche, game time on 1240 KASL should be around 6pm and again on the 17th with the start of a tournament in Deadwood.
