Pocatello, ID.    –     The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) has lifted an Air Quality Advisory and Stage 1 Air Pollution Forecast and Caution to notify residents of Bannock, Bear Lake, Bingham, Caribou, Franklin, Power and Oneida Counties of improved air quality. Due to improved air quality, certified woodstove burning restrictions have been lifted, along with restrictions on outdoor open burning based on air quality.

Please follow local and county ordinances when open burning outdoors.

Air quality has dramatically improved due to the cold front moving into the area. Air quality is currently in the GOOD category. When air quality is good, air quality is considered satisfactory and air pollution poses little or no risk. Air quality is expected to remain in the upper range of the GOOD category to the lower range of the MODERATE category.
