EVANSTON, WY. — Traffic is moving again on Interstate 80 in western Wyoming, following a crash involving seven tractor trailers and two other vehicles.

Local fire and EMS crews responded to the crash at milepost 27, on I-80 Westbound.

The snowy weather played a part in snarling traffic in western Wyoming and northern Utah on Wednesday morning, leading to the pileup which closed Interstate 80 at Evanston in both directions. The lanes in both directions on the Interstate were cleared to traffic around 5:15 p.m., on December 5th.

The eastbound lanes reopened fairly quickly following the incident, but the Wyoming Department of Transportation kept westbound lanes closed for several more hours into the afternoon.

Fox 13 News reported that 4 people were transported to Evanston Regional Hospital with minor injuries.
