Evanston, WY.   –   Update: The main part of the Twin Ridge fire is out, but some hot spots remain. The fire department has lifted all previous evacuation orders.  At this time it appears that no injuries or structural damage was reported in relation to this fire.  A city wide fireworks ban remains in effect. Please do not discharge fireworks with in the city limits.  Violators can face fines.

Original Story: At approximately 3:15 pm a small fire broke out behind Crane Ave in Evanston. The fire quickly has spread to the Twin Ridge and City View area. While it is still unknown what caused the fire, dry weather and strong gusts of wind have caused the fire to accelerate.

The city of Evanston has since suspended the use of fireworks for the rest of the evening due to increased fire danger, and in part due to the ongoing fire that sparked earlier this afternoon.

The City of Evanston has also postponed the annual fireworks show at this time.
