Hoytsville, UT. – On May 18, 2018 the Summit County Sheriff’s Office investigated a reported domestic violence incident in Hoytsville, Utah. A 26 year old man, identified as Derrick N. Christenson, was hit in his lower leg by one bullet after he assaulted several family members.
The handgun was discharged by the father during the altercation. Derrick N. Christenson was treated for his gunshot wound at an area hospital. Following his treatment, Mr. Christenson was arrested by Summit County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Summit County Jail. He was booked into jail on the following charges: Child abuse, aggravated assault, simple assault, domestic violence, two counts of domestic violence in the presence of a child, two counts of criminal mischief, and intoxication.
The father has not been charged at this time.
The case will be turned over to the Summit County Attorney’s Office for additional review.
