Laramie, WY. — Two days after allowing 91 points in a loss at Coastal Carolina, Wyoming beat the same team last night at the Arena-Auditorium, keeping its season alive.
The Cowboys caught fire in the second half of Wednesday night’s must-win game against the Chanticleers, rattling off 48 points for an 81-57 win and forcing a third and final game for the College Basketball Invitational.
“Loved the crowd tonight! The support from the fans and their energy was really a sixth man for us,” UW head coach Allen Edwards said.
Wyoming is now 18-3 at home on the season, the Cowboys have lost just three true home games this season and won just three true road games.
The final game of the series is set for Friday at 5 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium on ESPNU.
Friday’s game will be the first postseason championship game for UW since the Pokes played in the NIT title game in 1986.
